FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Most full bathroom remodels take two to four weeks of construction once materials are on hand. A primary-suite bathroom with layout changes usually runs four to six weeks. You get a detailed schedule at your design consultation, and we keep you updated at every stage rather than leaving you guessing.
Can you convert my tub to a walk-in shower?
Yes, tub-to-shower conversions are one of our most requested projects. We handle the plumbing changes, full waterproofing, tile work and frameless glass. If accessibility matters, we can build a low- or zero-threshold entry with bench seating and grab bars that look like design choices, not hospital fittings.
Do you remodel small and hall bathrooms, or only primary baths?
We remodel bathrooms of every size. Small and hall bathrooms often benefit the most from good design, smarter layouts, wall-hung vanities and better storage can make a compact bathroom feel far larger without moving walls. And when moving walls is the right answer, we do that too.
Can you make a bathroom accessible for aging in place?
Yes. We build aging-in-place bathrooms with curbless showers, grab bars, comfort-height toilets, wider doorways and non-slip tile, designed to look like part of the bathroom rather than hospital fittings.
Who handles permits and inspections?
We do. Bathroom remodels that touch plumbing or electrical need permits in Fairfax County, Loudoun County and Montgomery County alike, and we manage the applications and coordinate every inspection as part of the project. You never deal with the county yourself.
Can we stay in our home during the remodel?
Almost all of our clients do. We protect floors and walkways, use dust barriers, and keep the work zone contained to the bathroom being remodeled. If it is your only bathroom, we plan the schedule to keep downtime on the shower and toilet as short as possible and tell you exactly when it will happen.
What areas do you serve for bathroom remodeling?
We remodel bathrooms across Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Arlington in Northern Virginia, plus Montgomery County, MD (Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Rockville, Gaithersburg) and Washington DC.
Do you help us choose tile, vanities and fixtures?
Yes, material selection is a guided part of our process, not homework we hand you. Our designers narrow the options to combinations that work for your space and style, and you can see and touch materials at our Sterling showroom before anything is ordered.
What is the most expensive part of a bathroom remodel?
Labor and tile work are usually the largest costs, followed by the vanity, shower glass and fixtures. Moving the toilet or drains adds the most.
What warranty comes with a bathroom remodel?
Our workmanship is covered by a one-year labor warranty, and materials carry their manufacturers’ warranties. Per Virginia law you start with just 30% down, and the price we agree on is the price you pay, with no mid-project surprises.
